- My employment record includes 12 years of academic career at the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Western Australia (Perth, Australia) and 7 years of a industrial research career at Toyota Central Research and Development Laboratories TCRDL, Japan Automobile Research Institute JARI and ESI Group in France (manufacturer of finite element codes PAM-SOLID, PAM-SAFE and PAM-CRASH).

Dr Putrino develops advanced sensors based on technologies such as silicon photonics and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).
He is involved in a large number of sensing applications which include volatile organic gas sensing such as toluene/benzene, sensing of bacteria for biomedical applications, and spectroscopic measurement of chemical components for a wide variety of agricultural and industrial applications.
