UWA / ITRH for Offshore Floating Facilities

The Industrial Transformation Research Hub for Offshore Floating Facilities is a multi-disciplinary research initiative jointly funded by industry and the Australian Research Council. We are collaborating on the critical engineering challenges faced by offshore oil and gas projects by creating improved design and operating procedures. We are based at the University of Western Australia, with a node at Western Sydney University.

Dr Andrew Grime

Bio

Andrew has over 14 years’ experience in the design of structures for use in the Oil and Gas, General Infrastructure and Mining sectors. His recent work has focused on the design of offshore structures, including steel self-installing platforms and concrete gravity structures. Andrew’s industry experience has been interspersed with time spent as a lecturer in the School of Civil and Resource Engineering at UWA, lecturing courses in general design, analysis and the behaviour of offshore structures. His PhD studies focused on predicting the extreme response of moored floating offshore structures and the effect of parametric uncertainty on system reliability. Andrew is currently the Manager of the Industrial Transformation Research Hub for Offshore Floating Facilities, which is a multi-disciplinary research group which has been set up to tackle the critical engineering challenges faced by offshore oil and gas projects by creating improved design and operating procedures.
