Khanh Pham is the General Manager of TSG's WA operations.  He is part of the firm’s executive team.

Since joining TSG in 2005, Khanh has worked extensively with clients internationally and within Australia leading simulation-based value chain studies. He has worked across a diverse range of operations and commodities for resource companies large and small.

He has consulted on large scale capital expansion projects and value chain improvement projects where outcomes are underpinned by the application of operations research modelling and analytics techniques.

Khanh has a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons 1A) from the University of Western Australia as well as post graduate qualifications in Applied Finance.

Mr Piero Velletri

Bio

Piero Velletri is a Managing Consultant at The Simulation Group with 20 years experience in the resource and mining industry, the majority of which has involved the practical application of discrete event simulation to complex value chains.

He has worked on projects for a diverse client base ranging from Tier 1 mining companies through to mid-tier producers, both in Australia and overseas. He has built significant expertise in multi-user supply chains and understands the challenges of optimising capacity on shared infrastructure.  In 2012, Piero was involved in the establishment of The Simulation Group’s Santiago office where he delivered numerous projects for one of the world’s largest copper mines.

Piero holds a BEng (hons) and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Western Australia as well as a MSc in Information Technology from Tohoku University in Japan.

Dr Putrino develops advanced sensors based on technologies such as silicon photonics and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).

He is involved in a large number of sensing applications which include volatile organic gas sensing such as toluene/benzene, sensing of bacteria for biomedical applications, and spectroscopic measurement of chemical components for a wide variety of agricultural and industrial applications.

Dr Putrino has a strong research and patent output for sensing technologies based on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and photonics.

Current research activities include:

  • Sensing for determination of bacteria resistance to antibiotics
  • bacterial detection to identify Pseudomonas
  • Infrared and THz spectroscopy - including detection of components such as nitrogen or glucose.
  • Hydrogen, toluene, methane and other gas detection via direct detection mechanisms.

He has expertise in the advanced manufacturing techniques required to build novel sensor devices.
